The street is the band.

Every horn, pressure-cooker whistle, bird or doorbell your phone hears gets tuned and dropped into a beat. One honk becomes a riff. A traffic jam becomes a song.

Tap a burst on the screen to play it again. Shake the phone to drop the beat.

Live plays along right now. Collect grabs bits of your day, and tonight the Studio turns them into a song.

Sound is analysed on your phone and nothing is uploaded. Clips you collect stay on this phone.

How to use

Live: play along right now

Tap Start the band and hold the phone towards the noise.
Every horn, whistle or bell becomes a burst on screen and a note in the beat. The first one sets the key.
Tap a burst to play it again. Try the four styles at the bottom.
Record 30 s keeps a clip; name it, then Save or Share.

Collect: grab bits of your day

Pick Sound (horns, bells), Voice (say something) or Hum (hum a tune).
Type a name or tap a tag, then tap Grab. Tap again to stop (up to 15 s).
On a dashboard, switch on Auto-grab and every passing horn is kept for you.

Studio: tonight's song

Pick the day, a style and a tempo.
Want a video for WhatsApp Status? Tap Video so it lights up.
Tap Make my song. About a minute later, name it, then Save or Share.
Week mix strings the last seven days together as one track.

Deck: be the DJ

Pads along the top are your clips: tap to play them on the beat.
Drag on the big pad: left to muffle, right to thin, up for echo.
Hold to build, let go to drop. Hold to repeat stutters. Scratch scratches the last sound.
Faders set the levels; M mutes. Tilt FX lets you lean the phone instead of dragging.
Shake the phone for a drop.

Where things go

In the app, tracks and videos save to Downloads / Honk Orchestra. In a browser they go to your downloads. Grabs stay inside the app until you make a song from them.
